Until Then My Fire Burns Poem by Logan Fulk

Until Then My Fire Burns

The fire within our hearts
Burns bright for all to see
Never brighter than others
Yet never darker as well

This little fire dwells
In a place unreachable by doubt
In a cloud of swirling thoughts
Without rain, despair, or anger

This fire shall never go out
Until our time has come to pass
To warm our hearts with desire
To see that we never falter

Yet with desire comes greed
When the light burns brighter than the rest
When the cloud can no longer protect it
And it is doused by doubt and shame

When a fire comes to be darker
A hand shall reach out to kindle
The fire that dwells in this heart
A fire large enough for a pair

My time will come to pass
When my fire will be doused
Until then my fire shall burn
Never brighter yet never darker
