Unstoppable Emotions Poem by Hazel Durham

Unstoppable Emotions

Rating: 5.0

She wanders down by the river,
Strolling by it's overgrown, grassy banks,
The bitter wind makes her shiver,
But the lush vegetation brushing against her feels like her lover's tender touch,

She feels her deep emotions oozing from the core of her being,
She wraps her arms around nature
Seeing,
It's powerful force of ever-changing, embracing growth and the mighty river,

The bitter wind makes her shiver,
She imagines her lover's arms holding her tight,
As she observes fondly the river's might,
Her beauty is a melody of a stunning light

That shines from her sapphire eyes, she is a golden vision piercing through every day and night,
Her tall presence, a figure sculpted into a Goddess
Of the green wildness of nature's game of chess,

Goddess of charm so warm,
She misses the company of her friends in the local stud farm,
Where she had worked with a joy that had grown and blossomed
Like a bumble bee making honey,

She was in tune with life everything seemed funny,
But now the bitter wind makes her warm heart chill,
Her beauty is as natural as the constant flow of the river
Powerful, unstoppable but still she shivers

At the fear of losing her appeal, who will she be then when her bloom will wither
Will her spirit still rise to darkened skies,
Suddenly her sapphire eyes dances and defies.
Her great love for her man will consume the darkness,

Light will shine from her tired eyes,
No time for regret just outstretched blue skies
Over distant lands and oceans
And the constant bloom of her unstoppable deep emotions.

She imagines the presence of her lover as the chilly winds of life blows and it gives her strength, colors her dreams and gives wings to her imagination! She hopes that even after her age advances, her love for her man will keep her young! Beautiful write Hazel!

Ah Hazel, encroaching age can't be stopped, but we take solace from nature. The leaves will change, wither, and die, but that mighty river rolls on. Guess we might as well accept and roll on too! Marianne Larsen Reninger

If it gives any comfort to those losing their youth and va-va-boom, there is a couple in their mid-80's at our church, they are slender and rather youngish looking- I swear I see the teenage Barb right there in her cheekbones and the clarity of her eye and the skin that hasn't sagged a bit. Her husband looks like a young man in his build and in his merry blue eyes, the only real aging is his silver hair. I don't know their secret for sure- - but they are still so in love with each other. He kisses her tenderly good-bye when he goes off to the next room. He cannot do enough for her- carries her books, holds her hand, asks her if she needs anything.... If you are in any way worried about your beauty in your husband's eyes, don't be- -love gilds the lily and the rose! Now, there I went rambling on. I This poem writes a good story, sets a great scene, the chill of the wind is a good visual anchor- -well okay maybe not visual as much as appealing to the sense of touch! but I think you get what I'm trying so hard to say! Love IS an unstoppable emotion

Down by the river! At the fear of losing her appeal. But, it is all part of life. Thanks for sharing this poem with us.

The protagonist of the poem has shrugged away the perils of the advancing years and as you say reaps ' the constant bloom of her unstoppable deep emotions.' A poem of breathtaking beauty.

As of a sudden, amid the vast surrounding nature a soul wandering with a precious hoard in her posession, Love. It's enough to feel the eternity of his pace in our world.Kudos Hazel!
