Unsettling Stir
Affiliations claimed everlasting
are nothing but of make believe
One simply must keep on giving,
never expect in return to receive
Simple overtures get rejected
one’s intentions treated askance
Reprobate one is often branded
in strange social circumstance
Attempt however much of undoing,
unraveling and starting afresh
No escape there is for redemption
sans a proverbial pound of flesh
