Unrequited Love Poem by Sandy Mason

Unrequited Love

Petals fall golden in hue
One by one soft to the touch,
Baskets of flowered hope ending
In sad love me nots
Laughing and running,
Over loves broken glass
Prism dreams shattered
Black and white

Dawn awakening, bids goodbye
To the nights yawn
The robin's cheery song is full
Full of Woe.

Love that was given has stripped it self
Now standing alone.
In the nakedness of the soul
Clothed only by the sun's warmth
Yet left with nothing more than a yarn
Of tangled thoughts!
