She has become a good friend
Someone I’ve been searching
She has made me feel the beat of my heart
Since the tragic loss of another

Each time we meet exchanging a hug
For just few seconds two hearts beat as one
If I told her of a feeling developing deep within
Would I lose the friend I have come to cherish

Each night I pray for guidance
To show me a sign, but I fear what I see
Her heart beats for another
A married man she may never have

For now I hold out hope
The day will come and she’ll know
The Unknown love of this friend
