There's a side to you
never known
horrors in the shadows
never shown
you locked your words
in darkness
threshed your breath
from our essence
cloned your smile
with the moon's ray

there's a music serene
hidden to your soul
its strings play out vile
to another world

there's a time in your eyes
locked within your stare
you never look
outside its walls

There's a death in your age
never old
starved your soul
to many drools
there's an incomplete
hole never filled
the scars are dawn
in your marrows cloth

There's a love that's gray
never died
you hanged his portrait
on your breath
you mention his name
in your tears

There's a scream in you
never loud
there's a path it takes
never sounds
you are disturbed
burnt from being absorbed

you are broken
pieces from being abandoned
he never loved you
yet you hold him close

there's a light in you
still so frail but always ripe
this is hope
in my coming fall

you never did really
let him go

but i still love
you so
