Unknown Friend Poem by Jayachandran Chakrapany

Unknown Friend

It is my habit now
To awake in morning
Listening to the song
That a cuckoo sings
Whether it cries
I do not know
Whether it sings
I do not know
But really I got a friend
An unknown friend

So soothing the company of this unknown friend, whether it cries, or whether it sings, it depends on our weather inside...as when it rains we interpret it as a pleasant weather if we are happy, otherwise we think that the sky is crying on our lot too...Didn't Coleridge say: we recieve but what we give and in our life alone does nature live ours is her wedding garment, ours her shroud.... an alive presence of this cuckoo! ! ! nice poem! ! !
