Unimportant Poem by David Harris

Unimportant

Rating: 5.0

We live on a planet that teems with life
and while we enjoy our lives
we give no second thoughts to the lives we destroy
and the destruction of their homes.
Half the time we think them unimportant
within the natural scheme of things.
Each creature on this planet
has its role to play.
We only share this planet
and we should take care of it,
not only for ourselves,
but also for everything that lives on it.
Sitting in my garden,
I can observe many things
from the plants to the insects.
Although we may not realize
they are just as important
to our survival as we are to theirs.
We should take heed to this warning
where ever we may live
and always look before we leap
for one day all the beauty our eyes behold
may one day disappear before us
and then only a barren landscape
is all we will behold.

A poem with a message David, you are so right, it is quite scary to imagine life without some of the creatures and insects we need such as bees, 10 Lynda xx
