Undressing A Mountain Poem by Marjorie DeNaut Abner

Undressing A Mountain

In the distance stands a
Mountain hidden from view
Behind a foggy curtain
The sun peeks through and
Makes a hole in the mist
Finally the mountain
Raises her arms and lifts
Her filmy clothing slowly
Over her head and flings
Them to the skies
They float around her
Ever so gently in feathery
Wisps until she stands
Undressed, unashamed
Her contour again in
Full view, her feet
Firmly on the ground.
