Under The Apple Tree Poem by Paula Glynn

Under The Apple Tree

An apple drops to the ground and really makes him think,
For this phenomenon is something he has always questioned,
And he makes his discoveries, the world sometimes rejecting them,
But he had been a smart man and knew his science,
And science explains the world around us, as well as the world we are,
And many, many theories have been proved true, especially in physics,
And just think: we have airplanes, cars and computers,
The western world is rich with its technology,
And there is evidently nothing boring about science,
Inventions have come through the study of science,
And healthcare has also vastly improved since those gruesome hospital days,
For scientists did come up with knowledge, theories and solutions,
That have helped the medical profession come up with treatments,
For science has advanced society: it has invented machines,
Which we take for granted and has made music sale a lot easier,
We have compack disks, digitally versatile disks, memory sticks,
Computers, and anything else you care to mention,
Because not all people work on stage:
For some people that is not a dream, but there is nothing wrong to deem it,
Still, doctors, teachers and lawyers are as valuable,
But the man under the apple tree watches the apple fall,
And know how will change the world that spins on its axis,
And has scientific law called gravity.
