Unappreciated. Poem by Tracee Olga

Unappreciated.

Rating: 3.0

A simple ‘thank you’ in a day
Who will throw that my way?
I wait day and in the night as I lay
I wait with so much anticipation but nay
Nobody remembers to say
The simple ‘thank you’ in a day
I try harder and harder
Climbing this time ladder
One step a time, day in day out
Climbing steadfastly higher and higher
Closer and closer to my retire
Sometime on ice other times on fire
Reaching out here helping out there
Still their hearts adhere
To denying me my simple ‘thank you’
