Uma Observaçao

A moça está sentada. O moço amado
Para uma contradança vai "tirá-la":
— Dá-me a honra?" — Pois não- E pela sala
Eil-os a passear de braço dado.

De amor quanto protesto alambicado
Daqueles meigos corações se exala,
Te que as palmas batendo o mestre-sala,
Toma lugar o par apaixonado!

Começa a dança. A mão do moço, esperta,
Bole, mexe, comprime, apalpa, aperta,
Durante uns turbulentos balances,

E uma senhora, que não é criança,
Sentada a um canto observa que na dança
Hoje trabalham mais as mãos que os pés.

Poem of the Day

poet Edmund Spenser

My love is like to ice, and I to fire:
How comes it then that this her cold so great
Is not dissolved through my so hot desire,
But harder grows the more I her entreat?
