Ugly Duckling Poem by yabadabadoo

Ugly Duckling

She stands in a room,
A bright room,
Filled with bright girls,
Happy girls,
All happy except for her.
They are thin and smart and... perfect.
All but one that is.
They all live to dance,
But she dances to live.
They stand in a clump,
With their hair pulled back,
Pink tights,
And sleeveless leotards.
All but one,
That one lonley girl,
Who covers her arms with a black shirt,
No one questions,
And she prays they never will,
Because that black top covers her shameful scars,
If they ever find out they will look down on her,
And try to 'help' her,
So little they know.

That lonly girl sits behind her large eyes
She sits in quiet denial,
Cast away from the pretty ballerinas,
She is the ugly ducking,
The one you never heard about
Because she is the one that never turn's into a swan.
