Tzom Gedaliah /The Writing Wakes Me From My Sad Fasting Slumber

TZOM GEDALIAH/ THE WRITING WAKES ME FROM MY SAD FASTING SLUMBER

Tzom Gedaliah.
The writing wakes me from my sad fasting slumber -
I begin to think and move-

A New Year has begun-

How many new years have I not done
What I promised myself I would try to do?

Teshuva cannot be done by one alone
We need the other for correction-

Am I already resigned
To failures of a lifetime
I have never been able
To correct?

I pray to G-d
That this year somehow
Some correction will be made.
