Two Shadows Poem by Apurva Jain

Two Shadows

Rating: 5.0

Walking on the street,
and my two shadows walk beside me,
I walk while they crawl,
A distance apart, but they reside in me..
My two shadows walk beside me...

I am quiet and my shadows quieter,
One is black and the other lighter,
Difference b/w them can't be seen by eyes,
But if I only knew how to act wise,
'Coz I'm still confused which one to choose,
Is it better to burn or to diffuse,

I think and think and think,
and my shadows take a decision,
It's the end of the road,
and they merge into one,

Seems its better to carry the layers,
than fling the ashes,
It thickens the conscience when life crashes,

Now it's the end of the street,
Beside me.. my shadow still creeps,
I walk, it crawls,
I stand, it falls,
I believe in it and take it the air,
My life breathes.......
