Two Shades Of Blue Poem by Phillip Robertson

Two Shades Of Blue

There are two shades of blue in the world
That which pleases and relaxes the mind
That which gives joy to the world
That in which happiness can be found
That upon which we can build a utopia
Dedicated to the shade of blue in so many ways

Then there is the other shade of blue
It which clouds the mind with cruel nightmares
It which stains the whitest and cleanest cloth with blood
It which sharpens every blade to cut a swath through the world
It which poisons the water in the world and kills the rain
It which speaks mere evil in the world

There is light that purifies the blue
That blesses its very qualities that compliment
That gives a sense of joy to all
That shows the lightest shade of blue
Thinly seen but boldly heard

There is dark that poisons the blue
It gives a sharp and serious shadow to it
It makes up mischief here and there whenever it can
It runs havoc through your life and all eternity
It shows the darkest shade of blue
Boldly seen and boldly heard

We cannot stop the sense among us
We cannot stoop to such desperate levels
We cannot listen to the dark blue
We cannot let it cloud our minds
We cannot let it ruins our lives

With two shades of blue the shades are together
With two shades of blue we are whole
With two shades of blue we see with both eyes
With two shades of blue there is blue
