Two Hearts In The Hearth Poem by Maureen Oby Iwueke Gbagir

Two Hearts In The Hearth

Rating: 5.0

Bright is the day
Fair and gay
With nothing to dismay
The flowers which there lay

Do not smite the child
Nor the sweet ones chide
For within the sea wave and tide
The secrets of youthful joy hide

Joy may hide, never mind
But rays of it seep through the blind
My heart sings with same all - night
And bursts with grateful rare de - light

Those who with all are blithe
Go to sleep in tranquil alright
For nothing can quench the desires of the heart
But two hearts twined in the hearth
