Two Dozen Of Useful Maxims. Poem by Nicholas Amhurst

Two Dozen Of Useful Maxims.

XXIV.
The Pamphleteers have plunder'd many Pockets, not overcharg'd with Money.
Two--penny Works (when Hawkers cry 'em)
What Man on Earth can chuse but buy 'em?
Therefore Expences to prevent,
I have at last resolv'd to print:
Buy this one Tract, and read it o'er,
And you will ne're want any more.
Here C---r's Doctrine is confuted,
Whate'er was, or shall be disputed,
From Adam down to us, and so
As far as Time himself can go.
