Two crows spied a piece of bread
Both landed beside it on the ground
They started to squabble over it
As neither wanted to share
While they squabbled about it
A passing squirrel spied it to
As the crows continued to squabble
The squirrel nicked it
Then made a hasty retreat.
The crows stopped squabbling
And decided the bread to share
But when they looked upon the ground
The bread was nowhere there
The moral of this story
Yes, there is one indeed
If you want to squabble
About food somewhere
Make sure there isn’t
A squirrel lurking there
A great way you have David, bringing the smiles, lifting the hearts, quality piece Love duncan X
Yes always protect your nuts, when there are Squirrels about...: -> sorry... David another fun poem my friend...10
I believe it was in 2011 or so I submitted a poem by the same name to some sort of poetry competition and won 2nd. prize. My poem reflected on “two crows romancing on a treetop stage”, or something like that. Must dig that out again.
I was watching the squirrels in my front yard today. We have feeder filled with suet for the birds, and those little squirrels are quite entertaining doing acrobatics routines to get to it! Cute!
Teeheehee, yes you were correct, this is fun, plus a reminder that I need to eat something today..........thanks....marci.xo
