Twilight Heaven (An Antumn Poem) Poem by Kevin Patrick

Twilight Heaven (An Antumn Poem)

Rating: 5.0

Sombre tempests, seep with bonfire billows
In the charcoal wraith aromas, emanating autumn ‘sleeve
And everywhere the air is wrinkled and bitter
With summers reciprocity turning to winters prologue Elegies
But I am warm in a spring of a smouldering chill
As the silvery sky plummets the fervent blue
And leaves October and November until their falling still
Into the ploughing still-life seed of their hospitable ennui
Discolours the rays into the mouth of twilights days
As I walk on a laurel trail as an ambience romantic
In bands of scarlet, gold and orange I child I became
Cured to time and ripeness in their emblems enchantment
For autumn is the fulcrum in which my spirt beckons
Ensconced in its jacket that fills be with its twilight heavens

Autumn is a beautiful season with leaves of changing hues, a mild sun and chilly air! I like your expression... 'twilight heaven'! Every thing is sombre and as one walks along country pathways, one can enjoy the showers of leaves of yellow, orange and purple like the dropping of confetti! Enjoyed this autumn scene, so vividly portrayed!
