Twenty Fourth May Poem by Michael Nottage

Twenty Fourth May

On a Distant Sea
In Early Light

Silver Monochrome caught a Fight
Before Distant Horizon

In Distant Sight
Our Warrior Consumed
In Plume of Plight

No Greater Love
No Greater Pride

That Plume of Plight
In Early Light

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this poem in 2009 in honour of my Granduncle and the 1414 other Sailors killed in HMS Hood. My source of thought comes from the Schalenbach-Rheinbung film. there's a bit of John: 15,13 and a bit on pride of ships that become pride of the fleet.
