Twelve Hours Ago Poem by Joshua Bantum

Twelve Hours Ago

Six days ago,
You called me at
3: 33,
And now remembering that,
And how I missed that,
I also remember that was the last time
You attempted to reach
Out.

1 minute,
And six days ago
You called me,
And I was asleep.
Why I was,
I do not know,
Perhaps I fell
Whimsically seduced
By the cold eye of night,
Closing….
Or I drowned beneath
The wrathful coercion
Of fermented grapes
,

Perhaps I was drunk,
Perhaps you were,
And that’s why
4 minutes,
And 6 days ago,
You called me,
And since I missed your call
I’ve slowly been going crazy,
Unable to stop,
Replaying that moment when
5 minutes
And six days ago,
You called me.

But 12 hours,
6 minutes and
Six days from
12 hours
6 minutes
And six days ago,
I find myself here,
Knowing I’ll see you again,
Despite whatever happened
12 hours,
7 minutes
And 6 days ago.
