Tunis Poem by Chukwuemeka Ezeamalu

Tunis

On the shore-of Tunis
The speeding tides landed whites
But ebb'd back red

Its once glorious sands
The devil's staff left its prints
Our loved siblings fell

Back home as we wait
For a postcard we hoped for,
Royal eagle came

Carried you in flags
Lifeless, breathless and soulless
It brakes all senses
