Trying To Cope Poem by Tierra Bradley

Trying To Cope

She will never see life like some of you do
She is not the same girl you once knew
Once upon a time she was a great leader
Now in days she's just a great bleeder
What happened to her life that was perfect but small?
She hit a road bump in life that's all
Walking the streets searching for a way to cope
Met a man got addicted to coke
Coming home all hours of the night
Looking for someone for her to fight
Smacked her mom kicked her dad
Then she became very sad
She cut off all ties no one to talk to
Her mom and dad didn't know what to do
So to pass the time she took a little dope
Then soon OD'd on weed and coke
While she was lying on the floor foaming at the mouth
She saw her life going down south
She got to the hospital and survived luckily
She promised her mom she'll live happily
So now in days she just tries to cope
Without the use of alcohol and coke
So when she gets mad she just cuts herself
Trying not to harm her health
But as she sees the blood dripping from her arm
She realizes that she's at harm
She likes the idea of almost dying
And she also likes all the lying
If you look at her arm you'll see the marks
But when she's not cutting herself she's sitting in the dark
When her friends come by the house to see her
She asks them where they were
She screams and yells and throws a fit
And smacks the wall with a big hit
She realizes then that the pain is unbearable
So she plots it out to the last variable
Soon she's in her room hitting the wall
Bleeding from her hands but no time to stall
Her mom walks in and screams in surprise
And shortly after a doctor arrives
He inspects her hands and arms and legs
And when he's done he hands her a rag
He tells the mom to get her help
But she tells her mom to go choke on kelp
So no one helped her and she soon died
By combining all the things she has ever tried
At the same time she popped a few pills
Now her body is buried in the hills
So that's the story of this sad hurt human
Who tortured herself because her life got ruined
So what was the reason for all the yellow tape?
Simple very simple she simply got raped
