Try Poem by Suzanne Hayasaki

Try

Try to remember that I’m delicate.
Try to keep in mind that I’m feminine.
Try to recognize that I am sensitive.
And I will try to remember that you’re not.

Try to open your eyes to the fact
That what I hide from all others
I expose to you in hopes that you
Will treat it like a secret locket.

Open it and inside you will find
A tiny part of my soul
Wrapped in transparency
Fragrant with fragility
Entrusted to you with naïve love.

It is up to you to choose
Whether to string it on a silver chain
Made up of your own private pain
And hang it around your neck
Like a tiny albatross
Or a crucifix

Or whether you will slip it into some drawer
And forget that I ever offered a promise to you
In the form of a silver trinket
Engraved with our initials
As heavy and as light
As my heart.

I was hypnotized with beauty of thoughts shining like a moon among stars. An amazing poem!

A poem dedicated to maintaining a relationship during ups and downs of life. Very sweet. Thanks. '....a secret locket / Open it and inside you will find / A tiny part of my soul'
