Truth Is On The Inside Poem by Lyn Paul

Truth Is On The Inside

Rating: 4.3

Blamed for being honest, Isn't this unfair?
Honesty the best policy, Yet cold hearted stares.
Did you not want the truth, Your eyes were asking?
Now blamed for being honest, when my heart was truly giving.
Honesty can hurt, yet deep down inside...
You know it may stop future pain, being taken for a ride
Sometimes friends are not friends and can stab so hard
They've opened up their door and you've let down your guard.
Pain can cut holes, through bricks, through glass...
Yet just knowing you were honest... The Pain... Will Pass.

so well written, so many want the truth and yet when it comes straight at them, they can't handle it, because we live in a world of gray, there is no solid b&w, its there but the majority decide not to see or acknowledge it.happy new year Lyn

Truth can be painful at times! But when truth is distorted and mis represented, it is even more painful! Somehow truth will ultimately win! A powerful write! Thanks for the great comments!

True friends are hard to find - to thine own self be true is one of my favourite quotes. Good one Lyn.

With a true friend we can be honest and they will accept and understand, many so called friends can bring us pain, honesty surely must win, (or does it?) a wonderful write of real life.

Lyn the eternal dilemma to be honest or not, because the infidels are ever successful. However honest is the greatest reward... congrats by dr riza

Honest attitudes, gestures are so precious, even though sometimes you may not be understood in a fair way. One must never repent from being honest. Thanks for sharing your feelings! Good luck! Maria

You are ever so correct in your assessment. Honesty- truth- often does hurt and terribly so, but honesty from a friend will always mend, making us stronger and forgetting the pain, while honesty, even though true, from an enemy may mend, but will always leave a scar in our minds and in our hearts...I prefer the truth I wish not to hear, rather than the lie that sounds sweet and dear...Well said...
