Truth And Reconciliation Poem by gary polonsky

Truth And Reconciliation

Rating: 4.5

Two Germany's, South Africa,
Northern Ireland, Columbia,
Reconciled though years of hate
Pushed them to assassinate,

Not to listen, nor respect,
Nor understand, nor detect
The slightest shred of decency
Or honour or humanity.

Only plunder, only pillage,
Who cares what happens to the village?
Unless he's a convicted fella,
27 years - Mandela.

Or Betty and Mairead feeling
Love in cards that Jesus dealt.
Today, three dozen wars prevail,
Each is mad, foredoomed to fail.

The one that's probably best known
Is where the Jews and Arabs drone,
One transfixed on being free,
The other on security.

They'll need Messiah, maybe two,
Maybe then they'll start anew,
Reconcile their ancient truth,
No killing of and by the youth.

Aloha and Cheers Gary! That G. Polonsky? Yes, the valid question... way above the average should this be so or not... Whatever! Fine think that you have come aboard this ship! Conflict Resolution this! Or at least questioning the means! How did you balance the world when you were on? Had to be the travelling... Welcome Brother! All of the best from this life, to you, and to all of our relations... Michaelw1two

Gary, an absolutely brilliant poem! When will Man ever learn that war is never the answer?
