Truth Poem by Akhtar Jawad

Truth

Rating: 5.0

Speech is silver but silence is gold,
But I prefer to speak as I am bold,
I am fed-up of lies, can’t speak any more,
Where is the truth that I may adore?
I want to speak the truth, I couldn’t find,
I want to see the truth, I am not a blind?
The world is a market where truth is sold,
Everyone is claiming his truth is gold,
It’s me, who knows they are selling lies,
Truth does not exist like the skies,
It’s the reach of my weak eye sight,
It’s black if I absorb all the light,
If I reflect all it’s white so bright,
So it’s me that is truth or a lie,
I can see myself if I can dye,
To dye myself I need to love,
Kick all the lies be freed to love,
Yes, love is the only truth I see,
Burn all the markets, love is free.
See even in love my ego is streaking,
But the lie is a pleasure go on speaking.,

My friend Akhtar, like me, is very bold. Yes, he’s very bold, if the truth be told. I’m used to lies; we have them in the U.S., though at times they hide, I must confess. BUT here we also have MUCH of the truth, and be assured not ALL Americans are RUTH- less! Yes, again! “Truths” are not always so true. We should be careful, both me AND you …. to remember: “NOT all that people may say, OR print, as the current ‘truth’, IS ‘truth.” OK? ” The poem parts about white & black & “dye”...., make me scratch my head and wonder “why …. do I sometimes fail to understand....a line? ” I guess the answer is: “the line IS not MINE! ” “Love” is “FREE”? Where do I get my full share? ? I’ve been looking for love today ….., both here and there. But I DO love the rhyming in these fine verses, though the poem would be spicier with a few curses! ======================= my favorite lines: “The world is a market where truth is sold, Everyone is claiming his truth is gold, ” - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - HEY AKHTAR, can I interest you in buying some of my truths? They ARE golden! ! ! bri :)

I am fed-up of lies, can’t speak any more, Where is the truth that I may adore? When we live in a world of hypocrisy and gross lies, we involuntarily ask this question to ourselves! Political leaders and even religious men fool and mislead men telling lies! Now it has come to such a state that we are unable to distinguish between lies and truth! Great write Akhtar ji! 10
