Truth Poem by Autumn Winds

Truth

I scream and scream
But nobody hears
The ugly Truth rears it's head
And stares through me
What is Truth but a fleeting thought
Where there are so many 'truths'
The lies are so much easier to accept
This place was beautiful once
Once and now no more
What happened to the ever after
We promised our self?
You've gone and died
A fleeting person in an empty shell
The pain you hide
You hide it well
The temporary repose is gone
And so are you
What happens of I don't say goodbye
All the truth you didn't say does with you
All the words I didn't say die with you
The lonely road still stays lonely
Keeping people at arms length
I can't bear to be hurt again
To trust
To let in
Is through yourself in a fire that rages
And I see the messages even if you hide them
And I'm tired
So tired
All I want is rest
To stop thinking about what is bad
What might happen
What could happen
Sick of all the terrible truths
But I revel in them nonetheless
What is truth in our world of lies
And as it collapses around us
What is left?
