Trust Can’t Come Poem by Cassandra Howell

Trust Can’t Come

The sound is deafening
They won’t stop the madness
They’re words are threatening
Bringing only hurt and sadness

Trust is what they want
But its trust they won’t get
They’re angry voices will haunt
Its words I won’t forget

I try so much
To give them what they ask
My pleas they won’t touch
They have ended my task

All I ask is for them to listen
And to give me a second chance
But the pain has caused tears to glisten
They won’t give it another glance

Perfect ness, that seems to be they’re goal
I am who they hate
So I’ll bury my thoughts in a hole
And nowhere is my fate

Respect, they don’t deserve
But I give it any way
It hurts down to every nerve
But it will end some day
