Trust Poem by Valerie Lennox

Trust

Rating: 5.0

Just a touch ….. the promise of a touch
Just a certain kind of look
Just a way of saying something
A gentle aside, a soft glance…..

Slowly the bud is formed,
The shoot appears green and new above the moist earth
Nurture it, care for it, and rejoice in its new growth
Celebrate its freedom as it reaches out for the warmth.

What is this unfolding? – Long forgotten….
The feelings that are beginning to form
That bring with them happy sad reminders
Of promise and hope

Courage!
Trust that what is, is meant to be
Trust that the time and season are just as they should be
Trust that these new feelings are real

Courage!
I tell myself – whispering – don’t be afraid!
If the ground remains hard and impenetrable
Dry and dusty as a ghost town street
How will new growth survive and flourish?

Courage!
A timourous fluttering – waiting for the sweep of the owl’s wing
Scampering from shadow to shadow, afraid of the light
Be brave – feel the warmth, the life, the love
Of being in the Light!

In Trust I step away from the darkness
Slowly, cautiously, I reach out…
For you.
