True Reflection Poem by Bartholomew Arkoh Boamah Sarbah

True Reflection

In the midst of the turbulent wind;
the frozen breeze blew solemnly by
I looked around,
espying the images that flooded my noble sight
as the young moon gently penetrated the cloudy night

Shrouded images hurried effortlessly by
in overwhelming clusters
like the waters of a mountain spring
Images that remained unseen
even under the flashes of the threatening lightening

Alas!
They were those
that sought my consciousness
and made my eyes the accused victims
wanting to betray their master

But suddenly you came,
With fragrant countenance in a rosy apparel
enchanting my bewildered figure
For a moment you were an illusion
until I realised the undefiled truth

You are the woven lily of nature,
endowed with splendid beauty
with spotless emotions from a tender chest
Hilda,
That smile that roots from your belly,

unsoiled with the troubles of a human mind,
Was it given only you
that other damsels should be deprived...?
And behold!
In your glittering eyes
I could see the revival of my own

and it dawned on me;
my eyes rejoice from been exonerated
by the portrait of the beautiful Hilda.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
