True Love Poem by lalitha iyer

True Love

it lends you smiles
when the world dies within;
it lightens your sighs
when you sink sagging sideways

it is monsoon unexpected
raining in summer
when the scorching sun glimmers
and dehydrates you drier

it is sweet to ugly
kind to pennyless
it kneels down to the lepper
and stands up to the tender

it sparkles in those looks
like stars from heavenly pegs
it sprays upon the scar
like a balming milky bar

it speaks in silence
soaked with resilience
when every leaf has dropped
it fans with a heart unstopped
