Trophy Poem by Claire Taggart

Trophy

Your presences brings fear into my life
I am the one without a voice
Laughter impales my body
I crumble beneath taunting words of your choice

I walk along endless roads, rather than take the shortest route
I sit curled up in the corner
Sticks and stones
But it's words that cripple my bones

My tears became your trophy
Though I tried hard not to let them fall
