Triplets On Hearing A Persian Poem Poem by Greg Davidson

Triplets On Hearing A Persian Poem

Rating: 5.0

When they ask you to tell of God’s grace
Remember the touch of her hand on your face.
Speak to them of this.

If they ask how God set the stars in the skies.
Remember the light that shines from her eyes,
And bathe in this.

And if they ask “Does God answer prayers? ”
Listen to the music of her feet on the stairs,
And dance to this.

Are the judgments of your God fair?
Consider the perfume of your lover’s hair.
Give praise for this.

Is His the light from the sun and the moon?
No, think of your smile as she enters the room,
And sing of this.

Don't think the belief or non belief matters. it reads like a very beautiful song or chant. I like this a lot.
