Treatment At A Government Hospital Poem by Sameer Ahsan

Treatment At A Government Hospital

Cleansed in a pool of deep red
Early morning she was 'late'
Witnessed my gloomy eyes
As to death, how she met?

When, brought in haste to a govt hospital -
That is what triggered the fatal fall
Despite seeking door to door
Oh! The treachery, oh! Shades of procedures

She was profusely oozing
Fidgeting and groaning.

All of sudden her kin's cried
Oh! No, she stopped breathing!
Even then it moved from bad to worse,
Came a doctor but I tell it's a farce!

No autopsy, no washing, no covering of dead
Till evening her body under a tree laid
What a disgrace! What a fate!
This is how of being a citizen was at last paid.
