Treasure Chests And Secrets Poem by David Thomas

Treasure Chests And Secrets

things will never be the same
and i'm not one to pretend
so don't be alarmed when i don't shout,
since we've talked
i've almost died
i've almost cried
been hit in the eye,
and for about the thousand-millionth time
i've thought about you
and everything you are,
you're my lighthouse my love
that one special part of my soul
that i have kept sheltered, just for myself,
and on the days that i feel sad or deeply burdened...
i open up my treasure chest

and remember all of my times with you,
i love you forever (and always) .
