Trapped Poem by Cooper Gilliland

Trapped

The darkness that binds
this heart in my chest
is living and breathing,
evil at rest.

Tearing and screaming,
or peaceful, asleep.
It always is lurking.
haunting my dreams.

My face reflected
in a twisted mirror
anger stares back
and teaches me fear.
