# Transient Poem by Sonya Florentino

# Transient

Rating: 5.0

I haven’t heard from you in quite a while
Makes me wonder if you’re still alive
Or is your absence - this silence
Your way of saying goodbye

For my peace of mind I’d like to know
Should I wait or should I let go
So tell me, are you still alive
So I’ll know whether to laugh or cry

An almost flippant enquiry but with an undercurrent of sadness...........................

The feeling is universal. We have all been there and done that. Very poignant. You just want closure. Excellent write. More than worthy of a ten. Love, Sandra

I wasn't sure if this poem was about a romantic relationship or a regular friendship. But the feeling is the same; with maybe some notable degrees of difference in intensity, of course.

The title Transient is so appropriate for this poem Sonya. It's hard waiting and I can remember what it is like not knowing. You have expressed it very well in your poem and you do deserve to know where the relationship is going. 10 Karin Anderson

This simply expressed, reflective poem takes me back to adolescent days of bakelite telephones with heavy handpieces and coiled cords - which refused to ring.... Beautiful. Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
