Train Tracks Poem by Megan Tucker

Train Tracks

These train tracks are just something to follow

Walking in the night solo

Debating if I want to see another day

Just wishing everything would just go away

If I walk far enough maybe no one will find me

I know its too dark for them to see

My footsteps will only be another track

Execpt it leads nowhere

Its just another night

Where I find myself wanting to end this life

I can catch myself singing

until the train bells start ringing…

So weak and sore

I can’t take this anymore

So hold my hand tight

This may just be the last night

I don’t know how much longer I can take living like this

When I leave you, I’ll leave you with this kiss

At first I’ll be missed

But you’ll see it was for the best

Because where I’m at no one will find me

It’ll be too dark to see

These train tracks something to follow

Tonight I’m walking solo

…Waiting to hear those bells ring
