Train Break-Up Poem by mark glaser

Train Break-Up

There once was room for you and i,
Now there’s no room for i.

You and I were coupled,
Us locked together.

Now the train has been disassembled,
The cars untied.

It was a long train with many facets,
Now it spread long the yard.

Left in pieces to be reassembled for another journey,
The coupling of the train sturdy,
The train never to take the same order,
The train will be left alone to take a form sorta.

What’s viewed puts heart break at seeing what’s taken place,
Coupling another a new train together always takes space.
