Toy Box Poem by Lexie Pauli

Toy Box

I am the toy
At the bottom of a toy chest
The toy no one wants
Simply because it is old and used
Worn out by all the times it was attached to a rocket
To see if it'd explode
But each time it came back
Not shattered or in a million pieces
Just more burnt and bruised than before
But why would anyone care
It's just a toy
An old toy car or maybe a Barbie doll
But no matter what toy
It is long forgotten now
Left at the bottom of the toy bin
That will only be found when a new child comes to play for awhile
