Towards A New Dark Age (Vincent) Poem by john mcleish

Towards A New Dark Age (Vincent)

if you'd seen a sunset Vincent
o'er jungle canopy
colours, hues, fluorescence
o' palm and coconut trees

would ye hay pulled the trigger
acted so desperately
if you'd experienced tropical paradise
felt the warmth o' an asian beauty

I share yur pain depression
rejected by society
fur seeing the world through different eyes
labelled we' insanity

buried by the side o' the road
ootcast fay cemetary
condemned by those we' oot morals
damned by the Holy See

towards a new Dark Age
religions fanatically
oppress artistic expression
spirit o' creativity
