Too Good To Be True Poem by Charity Nduhiu

Too Good To Be True

Rating: 4.7

Night of terror it was
streams of blood replaced the
nearby river the whole village
swept and was no hope of any life
i lay there untouched
covered by corpses but
it was too good to be true

Confused I stood not knowing
whether i am coming going or
gone but a cold torch by police
assured me i am still breathing
which i thought that
it was too good to be true

I lost everybody a big loss
it was never to be replaced
by anything soon still thank
God that i was spared to tell
the story to the coming generations
still it was too good to be true
