Too Busy To See Poem by David Harris

Too Busy To See

Standing on a hill at night,
arms outstretched towards the heavens
trying to catch a falling star
as it streaks through the sky.
A slight breeze ruffles my hair
as we stand in our silence
enjoying everything we are given
from nature’s bountiful bag
of unseen wonders that surround us every day.
We pass them by not noticing
the wonders that surround our world.
Too busy in our endeavours
to even bat an eye at what
splendours life has to offer
as we scurry on our way
to that emptiness of nowhere.
We are always too busy to stop
and take a closer look
at nature’s bounty that we have.
We walk with blinkers over our eyes
never really seeing the beauty
that is always there for us.
The wonders large and small
that make our world beautiful
to all that care to see it.
One day we might when it’s too late
to see the wonders we all have,
but are too busy to see.
