Tonight, As I Look Down Your Grave Poem by Eloida Capuno

Tonight, As I Look Down Your Grave

Rating: 2.8

lying there six feet
under the ground
i remember the
person
you were once
and while i refer to you
in past tense
you will always remain
here present

i thought of you and
the days when you
are part of this
material world you
deride and
the greed you so
despised

you argue a lot
about inequity
the callousness
that abound
and how you tried to
fight them
until the Reaper had
you silenced

watching you tonight
with only the waning moon
shyly peeking from afar
and the breeze softly
humming around
i envy the peace that
you found
