Tolerance Poem by Somanathan Iyer

Tolerance

Spreading fast is the venom
of intolerance and fanaticism
coined are religious words
In defense of this malice
spared is no country
exempted is no religion
termites are out to destroy
the very existence of human race
targeted now are the branches
of the tree of humanism
actions of blood and bombs
causing barbaric genocide
reactions on a higher scale
only make the innocents suffer
threatened is every life
torn out is the fabric of peace
fringe forces acquiring mightiness
creating terror in every mind
challenged are governments
confronted are armies
the interlinked domain of demons
acting as agents of death
with impeccable accuracy
striking at their will risking their own
saner minds if don't wake up
catastrophe is imminent
in engulfing the very existence
of the race so dear to God!
