To The Stars Poem by Andy Wood

To The Stars

The light of the eye
Burns bright
In a new time.
The old line
Seems less straight
Like a ray
But say, a river.
Both lines-
Neither truer.

Dark eye, bright eye
Both am I.
From a marriage made in heaven
On earth.
Master and Everyman
Rolled into one,
On the run from
Moon and Sun.

Fighting in the heart
The new war
Of conscience.
Both sides
Balancing.
Measuring
All things.
Nexus-
Rex Deus.

Watching the sun set
Over darkly brilliant
Achievements.
Wonderful yet
Terrible.
Our time here spent
Creating,
As above.
Hereafter-
Ad Astra!
