To The Critic Poem by Maksim Bahdanovič

To The Critic

(Triolet)

No statues did Cellini hew
But only statuettes.
And yet he was an artist true;
No statues did Cellini hew.
In vain the triolet
(D'you hear, sharp critic?) you eschew:
No statues did Cellini hew
But only statuettes.
