To The Break Of Day (Another Of The Same) Poem by Seshat Nibada

To The Break Of Day (Another Of The Same)

Rating: 3.5

The day breaks and not my heart
For my heart is as Immortal as the Sun
It shines with thine eyes across distances

Stay, across the sweet Galaxy
It’s true then that (this business of light)
Lights more for us to rise, for a new day?

The day breaks and in my organs
That being well, I fain would stay
And honor another passing hour so –

The poor, the foul, the false, I can admit
All tragedies for another step of mortality
Life is what it is, whatever our business here

Light hath no tongue, but strange eyes
Love which in spite of darkness brought us hither
Should morning and noon keep us together
The day breaks with pieces of night nearly forgotten.
